How to count the cost per gallon of retail or wholesale drinks and liquids? - CostPerGallon.com is a web app for comparing the price per gallon. Coded in HTML and JavaScript, the cost comparison app is extremely user-friendly and easy-to-use. You can access the app using desktops, laptops, netbooks, tablets or mobile devices to get the price per gallon. By entering item, volume and price information in the respective fields, you can determine the price per gallon or cost per gal.

You can enter integers and decimals in gallons, quarts, fluid ounces, ml or L fields. The calculator converts them into gallons and adds them up automatically. If a value is zero, just skip the field.

Example 1: - If the drum's label displays the volume as 3 gallon 2 qt, enter the retailer and the brand of liquid, 3 in the gallons integer field, enter the 2 in the quart integer field, leave the other volume values unchanged, fill out the Price field and Calculate to get the price per gallon.

Example 2: - If the bottle's label displays the volume as 2.4qt, write the shop and fluid names, leave the gallons fields empty, enter 2 in the quarts integer field, enter 4 in the quarts decimal field, leave the ounces fields empty, fill out the Price field and Calculate to get the cost per gallon.

Example 3: - You receive a barrel of wine from Bordeaux (lucky you!) and it is labeled as containing 225 liters for $5,590. How much is that per gallon? - Type the vineyard and the wine's name, click on the "US" dropdown arrow, and select "L". Enter "225" in the box displaying "write litres here", then the price you paid for it, Calculate and the value of your wine is now shown in dollars per gallon.

Example 4: - You have a sample of olive oil from Tuscany, labeled as containing 200ml. Its wholesale value is $1.30. How does that convert in dollars per gallon? - Simple: Type the wholesaler and the olive oil brand, click on the "US" dropdown arrow, and select "ml". Enter 200 in the box displaying "write millilitres here", then the price of $1.30, Calculate and the price of the oil now appears in dollars per gallon.
